Four Board seats are up for election. As of now, there are FIVE candidates running for those board seats — however any cluster member may be nominated from the floor. We need YOU to be there to vote. Also, meet new neighbors and old friends. The Bentana Woods West Cluster Association looks forward to seeing you there.
Agenda, proxy voting forms, and candidate bios were mailed out a few weeks ago. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you need any information.
The next meeting of the Board of Directors will be Tuesday, April 11, 7:30pm, 1510 Scandia Cir.
Everyone is welcome to attend. As always, we start each meeting with a members’ forum in which neighbors are free to address the board.
The agenda for the upcoming meeting can be found here: BWWCA Board Meeting Agenda
Happy Holidays! Done with your Christmas tree?
Curb-side tree pick-up will be on Wednesday, January 4 and Wednesday, January 11.
Please make sure to remove all ornaments, tinsel, and lights, and set your tree out the night before the above dates.
If you miss these dates, please take your tree to the County transfer station. Do not dispose your tree on cluster or RA property.
Noa and his dad, Koi, pose next to their conquest
Very special thanks to Noa Hallonquist for helping out the cluster by removing a dead tree using his dad’s truck. The tree has been an eyesore on Park Glen for over 6 months — and Noa just couldn’t stand it anymore. The cluster will follow up by filling the hole with dirt and seeding the area in the Spring if necessary. Thanks Noa! And thanks to his parents for giving him the keys to the truck.
Due to inclement weather and mechanical problems, paving of Park Glen Ct and the entrance to Scandia Cir has been delayed. Paving will occur on Friday, November 11.
Park Glen: All vehicles must remain off the parking lot.
Scandia: Only vehicles that need to leave the cluster during the road work must be out of the parking lot prior to 7 am on Friday, November 11.
Vehicles may return to the parking lots on Saturday, November 12 after noon.
We apologize for the added inconvenience.
There will be road work on both Park Glen Ct and Scandia Cir this week — Tuesday and Wednesday (Nov 7 & 8). Depending on where you live, please move your vehicle accordingly.
On Park Glen, the entire road bed is being milled and paved. All vehicles must be removed from the parking lots prior to 7 am on Tuesday, November 8.
On Scandia, only the entrance to Scandia will be repaved. Only vehicles that need to leave the cluster during the road work must be out of the parking lot prior to 7 am on Tuesday, November 8. If your vehicle does not need to leave the parking lot on Nov 8 & 9, you do not need to move it. If you do no remove your vehicle prior to Nov 8, it will be trapped in the parking lot until Nov 10.
Vehicles on Farsta Ct will not be affected.
Vehicles may return to the parking lots on Thursday, November 10.
As a result of the road work, there is no yard waste pickup on Wed, November 9.
We appreciate your patience as we improve our cluster.
There are new swings in the tot lot (the one between Farsta and Scandia)! The old ones served our neighborhood well, but were showing signs of age. New mulch was also installed around the swings and the other existing structure.
The new swings are part of a longer term goal of replacing the other pieces of equipment. Our youngest cluster members deserve the best!
- Rake your leaves onto the sidewalk or to the edge of the road in front of your property by the morning of the dates posted
- Bring leaves from the rear of your property to the front
- Do not bag your leaves — they will by vacuumed up by the landscape contractor
Please do not rake any leaves from your property onto any Cluster areas, into the woods, or onto nearby Reston Association property.
